A 1.44 kW solar-PV array and 24 kWh battery bank was selected to provide electrical energy for lighting, refrigeration, devices, and laundry, and propane was selected for cooking and water heating (with future plans for biogas-fueled systems).
Rivera Family Ranch
Spring Water Collection System Design & Install
7th Generation Design was invited by the Rivera family to perform a spring site assessment on their ranch property in Huasna Valley, CA. Biological Erosion Control On Steep, Dry Fill Slope
Vetiver grass contour plantings were used to stabilize a fragile, eroding fill slope. A natural rock pathway was installed for slope access and anchored in place with vetiver. Vetiver grass is a non-invasive, sterile, clumping grass that forms root systems up to 15′ deep, is drought hardy once established and loves heat and sun. Vetiver is very effective at halting sheetflow erosion, protecting vulnerable soils, and creating terraces.
